SK Copy Co Director ends the year on a high with third judging invitation
Our Director, Sanina, has been writing successful awards entries for over a decade now.
She first started writing submissions for sector-wide clients during her PR agency days. Thanks to her thorough approach, which is underpinned by her invaluable journalism thinking, training and background, she has drafted countless entries that have gone on to become shortlisted or win.
“When I decided to leave journalism and move into the world of media relations and communications, lots of people commented on the fact I was ‘moving over to the other side.’ However, ‘moving to the other side’ is precisely what has enabled me to excel at PR and comms because I know exactly what journalists and news desks are looking for,” she explains.
“The same principle applies to awards entries. Being a judge enables me to be involved in the awards process from the other side of the fence. Joining esteemed judging panels provides me with invaluable experience, not to mention an exceptional level of understanding of the overall judging process that cannot otherwise be obtained.”

And now, 12 months since launching the service, Sanina has continued to strengthen her awards expertise and status by becoming an industry awards judge – for the third time.

Trio of judging invitations
Sanina has had the pleasure of helping judge two prestigious industry awards this year – the Palliative Care Awards in May followed by the Press 30 under 30 Awards in August. And later this month, she will start to judge The Press Awards 2025. Judging starts mid-December and runs until February next year. “Being invited to be a judge is such an honour. It’s also an incredibly worthwhile and pleasurable experience because I’m helping to identify and celebrate the very latest industry-leading talent. “There’s something particularly extra special about joining The Press Awards judging panel because I’m going right back to my roots, right back to where my career started back in the late 1990s. I can’t wait to see this year’s entries; if the 2025 submissions are anything like the previous years’ entries, deciding on the winners is going to be far from easy! Best of luck everyone.”
